Most Australians are pretty upset with the Federal Labor Governments plan to censor our internet access. Almost 100,000 Australians have joined one online campaign to stop our government from imposing China style regulations on our communications.
Word from the UK now that their government has decided to go even further; They are going to actively hack into their citizens computers, and not even require a warrant to do so!
One can only hope that in all countries where governments are infringing on the rights of its citizens, those citizens stand up and refuse to allow these sorts of transgressions to occur.
Mashable recently reviewed iSteam and iFog, two applications competing in the time wasting category of iPhone applications. Of course, one of the great things about the iPhone is it’s ability to amuse it’s owners and their friends for short periods of time that would otherwise be spent twiddling thumbs. :-)
iSteam is what found it’s way onto my iPhone, and it’s a fun app, along the lines of iBobble, both of which were free, but now with popularity and press coverage comes a price tag of $1.19. Probably not apps’ I’d pay for, but fun to have if they ever go free again. (As of writing, iFog is still free)
Wishing all our clients and friends a very Merry Christmas! I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas day!
If, like me, you are an audible.com subscriber, go log on and ask to cancel your membership.
If you’re in luck, you’ll get offered a $20 voucher to use on audiobooks if you keep your membership. It’s a good way to grab some great audio to listen to during the holidays!
We just got another letter returned to sender; It happens from time to time, as clients move house and forget to let us know. No big deal, except the letter we got back today, was mailed to the client late in November, of 2007 !!
Word today that some enterprising scammers are sending emails pretending to be from Optus. The emails suggest that Optus have recently upgraded their server and they require customers to click through and upgrade their account.
Everyone should be aware this is a scam, and clicking through to the link will compromise your computer and your Optus account.
Never click links in email, the risk is too high that you are directed to a false site.
Interesting write up from earlier this year from a user who purchased a Dell laptop.

Facebook users be extra careful, emails are circulating that trick users into installing a trojan, which then attacks your Facebook profile and adds links to the trojan so all your friends can be infected too!

Then call us today and order, because the effect of the massive drop in the Australian Dollar is beginning to bite consumers wallets. We’ve seen price increases on some components just in the last week of 15%, and expect by the end of the year that everything will be around 40% more expensive than a month ago.
We have limited stock available at pre crash pricing, so if you are thinking of purchasing a new computer, now is definitely the time to do it!
This is definitely worth checking out if you have a reasonable internet connection (1500 or better). http://www.abc.net.au/iview
ABC’s new iView service allows anyone to watch a host of ABC programming on demand. This is a great initiate and one that we hope will expand over the next few years, hopefully coming to platforms such as Windows Media Centre and Apple TV.
